What Does Allianz Travel Insurance Cover?
Allianz Travel Insurancce is a comprehensive travel insurance policy that covers a wide range of potential problems that could occur while you are traveling. Allianz offers both domestic and international coverage, so you can be protected no matter where your travels take you.
One of the great things about Allianz Travel Insurance is that it covers a wide variety of medical expenses. If you get sick or injured while on your trip, Allianz will cover the cost of your medical treatment, including hospital stays, emergency transportation, and prescription medications. Allianz also covers evacuation costs if you need to be transported to a medical facility in another country.
Allianz Travel Insurance also provides financial protection in the event that your trip is canceled or interrupted. If you need to cancel your trip due to a covered reason, such as a sickness or injury, Allianz will reimburse you for the non-refundable portion of your trip. If your trip is interrupted, Allianz will cover the cost of your hotel and transportation expenses to get you back home.
In addition to medical and financial protection, Allianz Travel Insurance also provides coverage for lost or stolen luggage, delayed flights, and rental car accidents. If your luggage is lost or stolen, Allianz will reimburse you for the cost of replacement items. If your flight is delayed, Allianz will cover the cost of your meals and accommodations. Types of Travel Insurance Policies Available With Allianz
There are a variety of travel insurance policies available through Allianz. Some of the most popular include trip cancellation and interruption insurance, medical and evacuation insurance, and baggage insurance.
Trip cancellation and interruption insurance can protect you in the event that you have to cancel or interrupt your trip for a covered reason. This can be helpful if you need to cancel due to an illness or injury, or if your travel plans are disrupted due to a natural disaster.
Medical and evacuation insurance can help you cover the cost of medical treatment and evacuation if you become sick or injured while on your trip. This can be especially important if you are traveling to a country with limited medical resources.
Baggage insurance can help you replace lost, stolen, or damaged belongings while you are traveling. This can be helpful if your luggage is lost or stolen, or if you have items that are damaged during your travels.
Travel Insurance Plans from Allianz
OneTrip Basic
OneTrip Basic is an economy plan from Allianz. It has coverage for trip cancellation and interruption, plus a basic level of post-departure coverage like emergency medical, baggage, and delays. All of these coverage amounts are low; for example, the medical coverage is $10,000, and the cancellation coverage is limited to $10,000. This is a good plan for someone who wants coverage but is on a budget.
OneTrip Prime
OneTrip Prime is Allianz’s most popular plan for a reason: it offers expanded coverage and the added benefit of free coverage for children 17 and under when traveling with a parent or grandparent. The coverage levels are higher than Basic, but as mentioned above the medical limit is low. Good for families because of the free children.
OneTrip Premier
This plan includes all the benefits of OneTrip Prime while doubling nearly all the post-departure benefit limits. What’s more, it provides more reasons for trip cancellation. Although this is the top plan from Allianz, it still doesn’t have an option for Cancel For Any Reason coverage. For this reason, I don’t rate it very highly.
Other travel insurance plans by Allianz include AllTrips Basic, AllTrips Prime, AllTrips Premier, and AllTrips Executive.

What is the Allianz Travel Insurance Cancellation Policy?
The Allianz Travel Insurance Cancellation Policy is designed to reimburse you for certain non-refundable trip costs if you need to cancel your trip for a covered reason. The policy can also provide coverage for additional expenses, such as airfare change fees or hotel room rebooking costs if you need to change your travel plans due to a covered reason.
Covered reasons for trip cancellation include:
- Sickness, injury, or death of you or a traveling companion
- Jury duty or being required to appear as a witness
- Home being made uninhabitable by a natural disaster
- Loss of employment (must have been employed for at least 3 months)
- Bankruptcy or financial default of your common carrier
To receive a refund, you must cancel your trip prior to departure and provide documentation of the covered reason for cancellation. You will be reimbursed for the cost of your non-refundable trip expenses, up to the maximum limit of the policy. The maximum limit varies by policy but is typically around $10,000.
If you need to change your travel plans due to a covered reason, you may be eligible for reimbursement of additional expenses, such as airfare change fees or hotel room rebooking costs. You must notify Allianz as soon as possible after the covered event occurs and provide documentation of the covered reason for the change in plans.
The Allianz Travel Insurance Cancellation Policy is available to residents of the United States and Canada who are aged 18-70. Coverage must be purchased prior to the start of your trip in order to be eligible for trip cancellation benefits.
How to File an Allianz Travel Insurance Claim
If you have Allianz travel insurance, you may be wondering how to file a claim. The process is actually quite simple and can be done entirely online.
First, you will need to log into your account on the Allianz website. Once you are logged in, you will see a link that says “File a Claim.” Click on this link and you will be taken to the claim form.
On the claim form, you will need to provide some basic information about yourself and your trip. This includes your name, contact information, policy number, and the dates of your trip. You will also need to describe the incident that you are claiming for and provide any supporting documentation that you have.
Once you have submitted the claim form, Allianz will review it and determine if you are eligible for reimbursement. If your claim is approved, you will receive a check in the mail within a few weeks.
Is Allianz Travel Insurance Worth It?
There is no simple answer to the question of whether or not Allianz travel insurance is worth it. The company offers a variety of different plans, so the value will vary depending on which one you choose. In general, Allianz is a reliable company with a good reputation, so its policies are likely to be worth the cost.
One factor to consider is what kinds of coverage you need. Allianz offers both comprehensive and basic plans. If you are planning a trip that includes activities like skiing or scuba diving, you will need a more comprehensive policy that covers those activities. On the other hand, if you are just taking a basic vacation, a basic policy may be all you need.
Another factor to consider is how much coverage you need. Allianz offers both single-trip and multi-trip policies. If you travel frequently, a multi-trip policy may be a better value. However, if you only travel occasionally, a single-trip policy may be all you need.
Finally, consider the cost of the policy. Allianz offers a variety of different deductibles and co-pays, so you will need to compare the cost of the policy to the cost of the coverage to determine which is a better value for you.
